Bantams take Game 1 against Wear Well Bombers

The Kings Mutual Valley Wildcats Major Bantam team opened up their best of 3 playoff series against the Wear Well Bombers on Saturday night at the Pictou County Wellness Centre.  Facing a hardworking and determined Bombers team the Wildcats were able to pull out a 3-0 win. 

After a scoreless first period the Wildcats capitalized on a powerplay opportunity early in the 2nd period to take a 1-0 lead into the 2nd intermission break.  Connor Deluney would pick up the goal with assists going to Blake Deacon and Cameron Whynot.  Both teams would fail to capitalize on chances throughout the 3rd period before Owen Stockdale would provide some breathing room with a goal assisted by Colby Ramsey and Dylan Schofield.  With the Bombers goalie on the bench for an extra attacker in the final minute, Jon Forsyth would seal the win with an empty net goal assisted by Dawson Balsor and Zachary Godbout.  Grant Sanford earned the shutout for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats will look to end the series on Saturday March 4th at 6:30 PM at the Kings Mutual Century Center.  If necessary Game 3 would be played on Sunday at 12:30 PM at the Kings Mutual Century Center.
